Signature GIF

Turn your signature into a GIF that writes itself.

Draw your signature with a finger, mouse or Apple Pencil, and download it as an animated GIF: your own hand writing your name, stroke by stroke, then holding before it loops.

How it works

How to make a signature GIF

  1. 01

    Draw your signature

Sign with a finger, mouse, trackpad or Apple Pencil. Steady hand smooths shaky lines, and you can reshape any curve by its points or trace a photo of your signature.

  2. 02

    Style the reveal

Pick one of seven looks, the pace of the writing and how long the finished signature holds before the loop starts again.

  3. 03

    Download the GIF

Choose the GIF or the transparent GIF on the export step, at 480, 800, 1200 px wide.

Formats

Signature GIF sizes and types

  • GIF

Loops everywhere GIFs play. 480, 800, 1200 px wide, 25 frames per second.

  • Transparent GIF

No background, with an edge matched to the ink so it doesn’t fringe. Place it over colors, photos or video in CapCut.

  • MP4 and WebM

Where a GIF is too heavy or you need glow over footage: 1080p MP4, overlay MP4 and transparent WebM.

  • PNG

The finished signature as a still, 3000 px wide and transparent.

Questions

Signature GIF questions

How do I make a GIF of my signature?

Draw your signature on the pad (or trace a photo of it), pick a look, and download the GIF on the export step. The GIF shows your strokes being written in the order you drew them.

Can the signature GIF have a transparent background?

Yes. The transparent GIF has no background and an edge matched to your ink. GIF transparency is on or off per pixel, so glow is left out of that version.

Where can I use a signature GIF?

In email signatures for Gmail and Outlook, as an overlay in CapCut, in presentations, and on sites that accept GIFs.

How big is the file?

It depends on the width, the length of the reveal and the look. Flat looks without glow and shorter reveals make smaller files. See the email signature GIF size guide.

Is it free?

Drawing, styling and previewing are free, without an account. Downloading a signature uses one from a pack: 5 for $1.99, 15 for $4.99, 50 for $12.99. A pack is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and unused signatures don’t expire.
